Return & Refund Policy – The Smart Buy

At The Purple Tree, customer satisfaction is important to us. This Return & Refund Policy explains the conditions under which returns, refunds, and exchanges are accepted.
1. Return Eligibility (7-Day Policy)
We accept return requests within 7 days from the date of delivery.
To be eligible for a return:
- Item must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition
- All original tags, packaging, and accessories must be intact
- Valid order ID or proof of purchase is required
- Return request must be approved by our support team before pickup
Returns requested after 7 days of delivery will not be accepted.
2. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products
If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect product:
- Notify us within 48 hours of delivery
- Share clear photos and an unboxing video (recommended for quick resolution)
After verification, we will offer:
- Replacement of the same product (subject to availability), or
- Refund, if replacement is unavailable
Claims raised without sufficient evidence may not be approved.
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following products are not eligible for return or refund:
- Used, washed, or altered products
- Products without original tags or packaging
- Minor color variations due to screen/lighting differences
- Sale or discounted items
- Customized or made-to-order products
- Products damaged due to misuse
- Bulk orders (unless damaged/defective upon delivery)
4. COD (Cash on Delivery) Orders Policy
- A COD handling/collection fee is charged at checkout and is non-refundable.
- COD orders may require confirmation via call or WhatsApp before dispatch.
- Refund for COD orders will be processed only after product inspection and approval.
- The Purple Tree reserves the right to decline COD orders in cases of repeated failed deliveries, excessive returns, or suspicious activity.
Refund for COD orders will be processed via bank transfer or UPI (customer must provide accurate details).
5. Bulk Orders Policy
Bulk orders are defined as:
- Orders with 10 or more total units, or
- Orders with 5 or more units in volumetric categories including:
- Metal Candle Holders
- Glass Candle Holders
- Floor Cushions
- Quirky Cushions
Bulk orders are not eligible for return unless received damaged or defective.
Return shipping charges for bulk orders may be borne by the customer.
6. Return Shipping & Pickup
- For approved standard returns, The Purple Tree will arrange reverse pickup.
- If reverse pickup is unavailable at the customer’s location, the customer may be required to self-ship the item.
- Shipping charges and COD handling fees are non-refundable.
- In cases of incorrect return reason or repeated misuse, return shipping charges may be deducted from the refund.
7. Refund Process
Once the returned item is received and inspected:
- You will be notified via email or WhatsApp regarding approval or rejection.
- If approved, refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days.
Refund method:
- Prepaid Orders → Refunded to original payment method
- COD Orders → Refunded via bank transfer or UPI
Processing time may vary depending on banks and payment providers.
8. Partial Refunds (If Applicable)
Partial refunds may be granted if:
- Product is returned in a condition different from what was shipped
- Tags or packaging are missing
- Item shows signs of use
9. Policy Misuse & Fraud Protection
To maintain fairness for all customers:
- Return patterns are monitored
- Accounts with excessive returns may be restricted
- Fraudulent claims may result in refusal of service or legal action
The Purple Tree reserves the right to refuse returns that do not comply with this policy.
